Simplimoku was created to provided a quick and easy way to view Ichimoku technical indicators. What is Ichimoku? 'Simpli' check out investopedia for a quick rundown. In addition to a quick daily Ichimoku chart, simplimoku offers a unique way to use technical indicators to return a list of SP500 stocks. What do we mean? Typically the average trader will input a stock to view its metrics. We wanted to make the reverse approach easier for you [beyond SP500 pending].

Within the cloud view [located in the top left corner of the site on desktop and within the menu dropdown on mobile], 'simpli' input a ticker of your choosing into the search bar. A quick daily candle Ichimoku chart will appear with all the usual suspects [ohlc, tenkan, kijun, span a, span b, chikou, and clouds!]. You have the ability to change preset time frames with the zoom buttons on the top left, or customize your time frame view with the from/to parameters on the top right and scrub a timeline on the bottom. Historical volumes are located behind the timeline scrubber. You can reference the Ichimoku settings beneath the volume/timeline scrubber. Lastly, hover over the stock price to view the last update day.

Oh, and if you are 'feeling ichi' you can click the this cloud view icon to generate a random cloud.

The list view is our bread and butter. Yes, with other platforms you can add watch lists and scrub through each security and view it's clouds. How about asking a question like, 'Give me all the securities that have green clouds, a tenkan-kijun bull trigger within the past 5 days, and a kumo breakout within the past 10 days. Oh! I also want the security to be within 20 dollars from the top of the cloud.' Simplimoku has you covered.

You can sort by:
  • Green clouds
  • A specific number of days since the tenkan-kijun cross
  • A specific number of days since the price broke the top of the cloud
  • Securities < $20 above the cloud
Is the sorting system not enough? No problem - 'simpli' copy/paste the contents of the list view to your desired editor, or export as csv. Additionally, you can select how many securities you want to view at one time, flip through pages, and click a ticker symbol to bump you back to it's corresponding cloud view. The search bar directly above the datatable lets you search things like 'msft', 'green', 'true', or '111.11'.

Each security gets 1 'point' based on:
  • Color of cloud
  • Price location relative to the cloud
  • Tenkan relative to Kijun
  • Price relative to Kijun
  • Slope of Tenkan
  • Slope of Kijun
There are a total of 6 available points to obtain, or lose based on the above mentioned indicators which result in 5 possible values [strong bear, bear, neutral, bull, strong bull]

The list view can be defined as:
  • ticker - Ticker symbol
  • signal - Symbol representing -6 to +6 given 6 Ichimoku cloud bull/bear indicators reflected as 'strong bear', 'bear', 'neutral', 'bull', 'strong bull'
  • open, high, low, close - We believe these are descriptive enough for a securities enthusiast
  • price_to_span_a - Price relative to span a of the cloud [kumo]
  • price_to_span_b - Price relative to span b of the cloud [kumo]
  • cloud - color of the cloud [kumo]
  • location - Where is the price relative to the cloud [above, below, inside]?
  • days_price_at_location - How long has the price been above, below, or inside the cloud?
  • tenkan_over_kijun - Is the Tenkan line above the Kijun [true, false]?
  • days_tenkan_at_position - How long has the price been above or below the Kijun?
  • price_over_kijun - Is the price above the Kijun [true, false]?
  • days_price_at_position - [Do not confuse with the above mentioned - Days_price_at_location] How long has the price been above or below the Kijun?
  • tenkan_up_down - Is the Tenkan line sloping up, down, flat?
  • days_tenkan_direction- How long has the Tenkan line been sloping in the direction noted prior
  • kijun_up_down - Is the Kijun line sloping up, down, flat?
  • days_kijun_direction - How long has the Kijun line been sloping in the direction noted prior
